Pitt St Mall

New Stores To Open at Unique Location

The Pitt St Mall in Sydney, Australia, is one full block of stores. The area is for pedestrians only, so shoppers can safely browse and window shop before entering any of the several hundred shops located there. Many large chain stores are represented, including Gap, Nike, and Sephora. Luxury stores, like Prada, Gucci, and Miu Miu, also have stores at this location. There are also over 500 specialty shops at the mall. Pitt St is the highest concentration of wealthy retailers in the world, and it is adding new stores to its offerings. H&M and Microsoft will be opening stores later this year. The latest store to open is Forever21.

Forever 21 began in 1984, and has grown to be one of the largest fashion retailers on the global market. It has one flagship store in Times Square that occupies six floors, and the newest flagship store occupies three floors on Pitt Street. The name of the company tends to suggest that it only caters to the younger generation.

That is not the case, as it has items for people of all ages. Their clothing departments include one for kids, men, women, and plus sizes. Accessories include shoes, jewelry, sunglasses, wallets, and hand bags. There is a beauty section that includes categories like nails, make up, beauty collections, gift sets, fragrances and lotions, and accessories and tools. Home decor and gifts are also available from this retailer. The selection in each category is substantial, and pricing is reasonable.

Those advantages are going to be helpful to them, as a few of their competitors already have stores opened at the mall. The chain has 600 stores world wide, and a large online presence. Shoppers on Pitt Street will have the greatest advantage as stores will have to keep prices low and merchandise new to compete with each other. Eliminating travel time gives shoppers the opportunity for the ultimate shopping spree. Customers can enter a building and visit several shops before needing to go back onto the street to shop some more. Not paying for gas and parking gives everyone more money to spend in the stores.
